Each and every attribute has laid the foundation of a series of masterpieces in the Avenger blueprint. The solid and functional looks start with the crown which is screw locked and very well protected by crown guards. Adding to the solid looks are the pushpiece reinforcements which have been beautifully screwed into the solid steel adding to the muscular single piece solid steel block kind of rock hard appearance. The crystal face is sapphire and coated on both sides with anti-glare and completely shatter proof.
It goes a step ahead as a diver’s watch by being water tight even at a depth of 300 meters or 1000 feet or 30 bars. The non slip pushpieces give it that extra manly edge with the rugged tops. The deep sea advantage in the Breitling Avenger is further heightened by the luminescent large hands. The macho look further gets accentuated by the stencilled numerals on the watch face.
The Avenger has the unique mechanical self-winding feature. The case is made out of one singe block of steel. The Avenger with the stratus silver dial matches very well with the leather gold strap with the tang type of buckle. The dials come in stratus silver, volcano black, tungsten grey and air force blue. The volcano black dial matches well with the black Ocean Racer strap. The professional steel bracelet looks perfect with the Air Force blue dial. The tungsten grey dial matches the Diver Pro II Black and the steel professional bracelet. Of course it is entirely a matter of choice and the dials and buckles and straps can be interchanged as per personal desire.
The choice in straps is vast. The straps come in steel, Barenia leather, croco and rubber. The colours available in leather are Brown, Black, Green, Gold and Blue. The colours in croco are even more amazing and include Blue, Brown, Black, Burgundy, Gold, Green and Camel. The Ocean Racer has a choice of Black and Blue. The Diver Pro has again the choice of Black and Blue but with a different finish in the tough rubber. The third choice is the Diver Pro II which again has Black and Blue but again in a different finish for the rubber strap.
The technical data of the watch is also stupendous. The watch has a movement of Caliber Breitling 13. The Chronograph consists of three sub dials which record up to 1/4th of a second, 30 seconds and 12 hours. The watch has 28,800 vibrations per hour and operates smoothly on 25 jewels. The diameter of the watch is 45.40mm, the thickness is 17.4mm and it weighs a solid 144.30g. All these ingredients make this Breitling Avenger watch worth its weight in gold.
