It is one of the bigger Breitling Chronometers with a diameter of 48.4 mm. It is 18.60 mm thick. It is also a hefty 153.30 g. It has the superb and unique Breitling mechanical self winding movement which is Caliber 13. The date is displayed very legibly in an aperture in the dial at three o’clock. The watch has 25 jewels for a smooth movement. The Chronograph is made up of three sub dials which record up to one quarter of a second, thirty minutes and twelve hours.
It is a perfect diver’s watch with the chronometer being effective even at depths of three hundred meters or thirty bars that is a thousand feet. The pushpieces have been made with serrated edges to make them slip proof. The crown too is non slip and the extra large size of the watch makes for very good visibility in the dark recesses of the sea. The watch face is sapphire crystal coated on the inside and the outside with antiglare. It is extra scratch resistant. The Hour and Minute hands are large and luminescent. The Bezel is unidirectional and ratcheted. The ergonomics of this model of Breitling chronometer are simply superb to say the least.
There are many variations in the combinations of case, dial and strap. These include the single block steel case, the black dial, the blue dial, the volcano black dial, the hurricane white dial and the white dial. In the straps the standard steel Professional bracelet looks perfectly matched with all the dials. Besides that there is a choice in leather and rubber straps. The leather straps come in five colours and they are brown, black, green, gold and blue. The croco finish straps come in seven colours and these are blue, brown, black, burgundy, gold, green and camel. There are three choices in the Ocean Racer series and these are black, bronze and blue. The Diver Pro has two choices of black and bronze. The Diver Pro II has two choices and these are black and blue.

He was a watch enthusiast from a very young age and an accomplished watch maker by the age of nineteen. His success led him to shift the factory to La Chaux-de-Fonds which is the centre of Swiss watch making. The growth of Breitling watches is tied to aviation.
Pioneers in aviation used the instruments supplied by Breitling in their initial flights. Over the years it became known as an airman’s chronometer and the company was the official supplier to the British Royal Air Force.
